The artist Yen Chun is always looking for small but vital objects in daily life, and in plants he found a way to open a dialogue between man and nature. For Green Ribbons, he first took a photograph which he trimmed and cut, then divided it into three parts. When we look at plants from a distance, our line of sight will constantly wander and stop, wander and stop, and Yen Chun restores this unconscious viewing behavior through his works. He carefully depicts the texture of the grass and the lines of the veins, as well as the gradations of light on the surface of individual blades of grass. The viewer can, with concentration, grasp a brief moment in the vaster narrative of plant life.
