In 2012, artist Pai Mu-Chun began to use “caution tape” as a main creative element, endowing it with double meanings. The superficial meaning is that when an outsider breaks through it, some kind of “defense mechanism” will be set into motion. On a deeper level, there is the implication that “this is my domain.” In No Entry, the caution tape functions as a divider, behind which is a private space, and the animals in picture symbolize that " all creatures guard their territory by instinct "The daily-use items stacked among them express the concept of “the past.”. The artist reveals his humanistic concerns through such paintings, in which he deeply reflects on personal and social events, the natural world, or human society.
