PAI Mu-Chun is skilled in oil painting. Despite using realistic brushworks, the special composition of her works and clever arrangements of color tones provide a surrealist atmosphere. Separate shows a verdant bamboo forest barred from the viewer by a uniform and blue colored noise reduction fence decorated by red warning lights that seemed almost unnoticeable. The lights seem to hint at the impending revelation of previously hidden voices. PAI Mu-Chun believes viewers would be able to engage in different visual dialogs with the artist’s creative vocabulary and symbols and generate new meanings and discoveries. Such realization helps us to reflect upon our everyday surroundings and to observe things with greater curiosity than before.
