HSIEH Mu-Chi's The Banana Tree at Dusk is inspired by YEN Shui-long's Guanyin Mountain and LIAO Chi-Chun's Courtyard with Banana Trees. He transforms the two artists' exquisite workmanship and painting skills to depict the sunset, mountain views, and banana trees. Through collages and multiple perspectives, the banana leaves and sunset views are misplaced. The gray-and-white stripes at the corners are the same as the background of image editing software, so the original "painting" has been transformed into a "digital image." HSIEH Mu-Chi reflects on the context of tradition and contemporary landscape and redefines the essence of painting with a humorous approach. By reinterpreting traditional paintings, a contemporary innovative narrative is created.
