SU Hsiao-Meng is good at using metalworking techniques, such as wires and enamel, to create with Eastern aesthetics. The work Compound 2012-1 uses colorful aluminum wires of silver and pink gold. The coexistence relationship between man and natural environment is symbolized through twist weaving, overlapping and forming a complex. The multiple dimensions of the work echo the inner emotions and the willpower of life. SU Hsiao-Meng believes that weaving is the continuation of tradition, especially when it incorporates hard metal media into soft free curve knitting and uses such media to tell stories.
