SU Hsiao-Meng is skilled in metalsmithing and her creations convey her feelings about various aspects of life. Compound 2015-5 is a work created by weaving fine gold and silver wires into a complex, intricate meshwork to create an irregular bubble-shaped object resembling a growing and asexually reproducing organic lifeform. The objects contained within the mesh move and slowly expand within the transparent space as they interact and commune with the surrounding environment. Life is filled with memories of smells, emotions, sounds, and temperature. SU Hsiao-Meng uses creation as a means to preserve these emotions and memories acquired from her life.
