SUN Pei-Mao’s paintings have an imagination and an absurd spectacle that are derived from contemporary society and life. In the work, Psychotic, the scene is like a geographical landscape of a national park. Some people are setting up tents here and camping near the campfires. A fierce tiger suddenly appears. The scattered items and the people hiding behind the tent show the viewer what is happening just a moment before. SUN Pei-Mao constructs a drama-like absurd scene and leaves the storyline of the play to the viewer's imagination and speculation. This image is similar to when we pause the movie and stop it at a certain point in time. This kind of theater composition constructs a unique spectacle that belongs to the society and project the relationship between people, depicting the state of loneliness behind life.
