HUNG Yu-Hao’s Shift uses a bird’s eye perspective to show the everyday scene of traffic coursing through the roads. The concept of light scanning was used to preserve moving vehicles and pedestrians on the roads and to slowly inspect the street images. The motion of the scanning light creates an overlapping scene of day, night, dawn, and dusk cycles of the landscape, transforming the all-too familiar landscape into an alien and isolated visual experience. HUNG Yu-Hao attempts to use this work to present the sense of isolation and separation, convey the insecurity experienced by people who are forced to move or live away from their homes, and state of exile experienced when placed in a changing environment.
