LIN Wen-Chaing was once a member of documentary film production teams and embarked on a personal investigation of photography afterwards. “New Paradise 2” is taken from a dilapidated and abandoned park provided with various concrete sculptures portraying well-known fables that no one is going to see. LIN Wen-Chaing photographed these sculptures that were constructed by people and abandoned by others, and deliberately added visual elements that should not exist by means of montage, generating a nonsensical and strange atmosphere. The artificial exotic paradise portrayed by LIN Wen-Chiang seems to be based upon our imagination for happiness, yet at the same time serves as a metaphor for our inner emotions and desires that are void but realistic.
