LIN Wen-Chiang was involved in documentary prior to embarking upon a path of self-inspection through photography. Awakening/Enigma Part 2 is a series of photographic works that focus on personal spirituality. The blurry image shows a horse passing through desolate gravel grown with fine, long plants, providing a surreal atmosphere for the entire composition. The shaky, black and white composition conveys a sense of detachment and subconscious confusion, suggesting that the photograph was taken at the heat of the moment without careful planning. LIN Wen-Chiang treats photography as a spontaneous experience with fateful encounters, with every photograph serving as a reflection of the photographer as well as the viewers.
