HSU Ming-Feng is skilled at using the natural textures and grains of wooden planks for his panel artworks. City Landscape presents an assemblage of urban points, lines, and surfaces. Chiseling, cutting, laminating, and transfer printing techniques were used to recreate the broken traces of wooden panels, creating a print that resembles the overlapping montage of old and new buildings in an urban landscape. The artwork has a green base, with different color patches serving as a silhouette cutting of different urban buildings arranged vertically and horizontally at different depths. The arrangements of points and lines add to the rhythm of the entire composition. HSU Ming-Feng uses the material and technique of panels and block printing to create an abstract space with unrestrained fantasy.
