CHANG Heng-Ming’s Channel of Variation Planet is based upon a dream-like fantasy. The horizontal composition shows the landscape of another planet. The earthen-yellow land, changing rocks, and lakes serve as the habitat for uniquely shaped alien organisms. The discontinuous panels simulate the fractured beginnings and endings of dreams while watercolor help highlight the flowing nature of dreams as well. In this work, CHANG Heng-Ming employs fuzzy colors and delicate lines to create a unique world in order to break open the confinements of inner emotions and spirituality.
