The massive walls depicted within the painting have divided the world in two, with colossal giants attempting to scale these walls and invade the minute humans dwelling within. The composition depicts the artist’s inner conflicts when faced with choosing to pursue his ideals or succumbing to realistic demands. By creating this fantasy world, CHANG Hung-Ming attempts to dispel the chains that bind him to the realistic world.
