CHEN Nien-Tzu has been working with ink painting as her mode of artistic presentation. After encountering certain new challenges in her life, CHEN Nien-Tzu’s creation also experienced a corresponding transformation after 2010. The once emotional colors have faded, giving way to extremely light and pale ink lines and blooms. Stream is a collection of fine ink lines flowing over each other to form whirlpools and eddies against a white background around stocks that have been composed of tiny ink dots. Flowing water and serene rocks together generate a delicate emotional state where both dynamic motion and composed tranquility co-exist. Nature has granted CHEN Nien-Tzu with a comforting solace, allowing her to use artistic creation to extract and remove the chaotic and confusing emotions within her heart. With art, CHEN Nien-Tzu has found a sanctity where she could calmly contemplate on her life.
