CHEN Yi-Ru’s works are based upon fleeting snippets of everyday life. By meticulously observing things around her, CHEN Yi-Ru has generated her own artistic language and imagery to escape from the confines of the outside world, creating a jigsaw of memories with overlapping puzzle pieces of time and space. In Goodnight Dear, CHEN Yi-Ru has created brief memories of her travels, combining various temporal snapshots into an artistic montage. Purple-blue skies are entwined with various pastel patches. Soft and warm shades are coupled with random, irregular lines to create a soothing texture that allows the viewers’ minds to slowly settle into a blissful calm. In this uninhabited landscape, a pleasant and delicate artistic approach was used to gather happiness and create a sweet collage of CHEN Yi-Ru’s personal kingdom of joy.
