Artist CHEN Kun-Feng takes the images of daily life records as the basis of creation. He integrates digital techniques into traditional painting. Images are dismantled, reassembled, and reconstructed. He tries to explain the fragments of life and memory in another way. The work Crossing Boundary II presents the artist’s passion for aircrafts. The flaps of the airplane appearing in the image are an important symbol for flight. CHEN Kun-Feng develops the concept of terminal through the flight. “Terminal” is the exclusive place for travelers and represents the beginning of a journey to an unknown field or the end of a journey. The overall atmosphere of this work presents the mental condition of the journey experience. CHEN Kun-Feng’s creation covers digital image, nostalgic photograph, and painting. He applies single hue processing to usually seen images in life and decorates with special white light for turning the common memories taken for granted by Taiwanese people into a unique and new urban landscape.
