Artist CHEN Kun-Feng takes the images of daily life records as the basis of creation. He integrates digital techniques into traditional painting. Images are dismantled, reassembled, and reconstructed. He tries to explain the fragments of life and memory in another way. In his work The Memory of Li-Shui Lane, CHEN Kun-Feng imitates the style of computer images and draws a big tree on the canvas with the purple hue. The natural hue seems to be removed and the revision of special effect by digital software is remained. The big tree is originally an objective thing. Through the fantasy of the artist, he turns the objective thing into a subjective memory image and generates the opposition between reality and simulation. Through this work, CHEN Kun-Feng emphasizes that we express the criticism and satire on the real life in the artistic form, but maybe so-called beautiful memory is just built in our imagination.
