Artwork Appreciation
CHANG I-Yun likened the window to the human eye and believes that each window has its own soul. Soul’s Window shows the setting sun shining upon a weathered concrete wall that sports a window directly opposite to another window on the wall of a metal fence. The window of the metal fence happens to create a frame for a brick wall that sports two windows of its own. Each window has its own stories composed of people, events, and objects that occurred nearby. CHANG I-Yun has created this scene of windows within windows mutually connected with each other as an analogy of our soul covered by layers of protection yet craving for an exit of its own.
