Artwork Appreciation
CHANG Tzu-Ching employed methods for applying cake icing and cream upon her art creations. Midway No. 4 shows a glass panel stacked by layers of paint to generate a texture that resembles works created by the impressionists. Combinations of blue, white, yellow and green allow people to think about the skies, shadows, and grasses while building a joyous and harmonious symphony of colors. CHANG Tzu-Ching believes that painting is like writing poetry, with words replaced by color, the canvas used as the media upon which rhymes and rhythm dance. The artist uses painting as a means to convey joy, emotions, and desires that viewers can readily immerse themselves in.
