WANG Chien-Yang uses nude models in place of actual characters in order to convey the state of innocence and freedom. Fun and virtual environments are used to lead viewers into an imaginary and surreal world. The resulting photographs and sceneries inspire fantasies that are related to the otaku culture. American Cowgirl shows a cowgirl leaping in midair with guns blazing while the gingerbread man hides behind a cactus. Toys and brilliant colors are used to create an imaginary town, while the rocking horse serves as the cowgirl’s most reliable companion.
