作品賞析
Artist Lin Yi-Hsuan created this work by fusing memories of past encounters with animal carcasses with his own reflections on the changing physical senses of the digital age. Intricate brushstrokes, a collage of digital images, and a transparent self-leveling adhesive are layered together, creating a magical space, as if organic tissue is slowly flowing and transforming. The mass in the lower right, composed of blood-red and various other bright colors, appears at first glance to resemble a festering wound. However, a closer look reveals a wealth of noise and fragments from the digital world, such as wreaths commonly seen at weddings and funerals in Taiwan, and images of moles living in dark burrows. These images reflect Lin Yi-Hsuan’s questions about life, death, and his own existential state. For him, the human body has long been digitized, information rapidly metabolized, and our feelings are no longer pure.
