Rotating Wormhole－Mei Soul is an interactive mechanical installation work by artist Chang Yu-Chia. In recent years, he has developed a series of works on different characters in various forms such as paintings, sculptures, and mechanical devices. This “beautiful beast,” named Mei Soul, that feeds on “beauty” is the most representative characters among them. Chang Yu-Chia creates lively characters in an anime style and reflects on his own experiences and turning points through stories. Therefore, the means of expression in this series of works will continue to develop and expand over time. Rotating Wormhole－Mei Soul is based on the concept of a time machine, so in terms of visual styling, he focused on creating a sense of technology. The image of the Beautiful Beast is composed of two pieces of acrylic. When the device rotates, the images will rotate and intersect, creating a psychedelic pattern. The Beautiful Beast will also grow larger and smaller, as if entering a dazzling time tunnel and embarking on a journey through time.
