作品賞析
The theme of artist Huang Yen- Hsun’s creations during a certain period revolved around the image of “people trying to find hope in the vast universe, before and after the destruction of their living environment.” In his work Shimmer, people on a dark land, shrouded in a transparent hemisphere, are searching ahead with searchlights. The various luminous bodies scattered around them seem to be conveying some message, but it is unclear. Huang Yen-Hsun captured various shapes of light boxes and neon lights, casually arranged them into luminous bodies in the painting, and used a pneumatic airbrush to create a halo effect. He used a soft blending painting technique to create a matte black background, then used a scraper and gray-blue paint to paint the foreground, and used glossy paint to create a sense of layering, creating a difference in texture between the foreground and background. The whole picture seems to be telling the story of how humans, after experiencing destruction, try to find their own identity, light, and hope, but always fail because they cannot overcome the difficulties.
