作品賞析
The artist Kang Ya-Chu created the three-dimensional work Mushrooms from the Forest No. 2 based on her experiences while living in a village in Japan. Rural Gunma Prefecture allows licensed hunters to hunt bears on a regular basis to maintain the local ecological balance. After having tasted mushrooms and bear meat from local hunters and gatherers, Kang felt very deeply about the symbiotic relationship between human beings and nature. Having a great passion for the history of textiles around the world, she chose to use 100% natural wool and resin as her media. She first molded this figure with resin and then used the plasticity and shrinkage of wool fiber and a method similar to tie-dyeing to create a spirit with the appearance of a bear and some mushrooms. Bears are spiritual animals in Japanese culture, and mushrooms in humid forests grow in thousands of varieties and shapes, so as far as artists are concerned, they provide a lot of magical imagery. Kang hopes that through this imaginative and magical work, she will lead viewers to think more about the symbiosis between humans and nature.
