Artist Li Po-Yi is fascinated with the history of photography, and believes that the “seeing the world from above” has been a dream pursued by human beings since ancient times. He thus used nine of his photographs to create Mosaic Sports Field, which presents the kind of spatial vision one hardly ever gets. Through the direct top-down perspective of aerial photography, the one-point perspective is removed, creating an entirely flat visual effect. He cut the nine photographs into squares and arranged them to form a new mosaic-like composition. The various colors and rich visual layout present the symbolism and diversity of the human activity space. For Li Po-Yi, aerial photography occupies the same space as daily life—it only produces different experiences and interpretations of the same thing, which is its charm.
