Leland Lee, who works in the tech industry and is an amateur photographer, loves to observe people’s relationship with the world through the camera lens. In recent years, he has become interested in drone photography. He is fascinated by aerial views of citiesand records the movements of people through them. Over Look – 1 was taken above Bitou Cape Lighthouse Park in Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Since Lee served as a marine patrolman near Bitou Cape when he doing his military service, he is quite familiar with the geography of the area. When viewing this familiar land through his aerial shots, though, he realized that there are different ways to look at even the most familiar things. Here, the Bitou Cape Lighthouse Park viewed from above is surrounded by turbulent waves that give it an isolated, independent air. The wide-angle view not only broadens the view but also redefines the possibilities for what we may consider large and small.
