作品賞析
The early works of CHIEN Fu-Chuan applies skills such as burning, poking holes, tearing, and stuffing with industrial waste to express his concern for human tragedy and environmental ecology. In the later period, he changed his practice from brush to knife, mainly using black and white and less complicated colors. He cuts, hollows out, and twists the canvas to present a simple and abstract mood. In Shi Qi (2) he simply uses stones and canvas as the medium, leaving a large area of white, carving and hollowing by the knife, and embedded with a cobblestone at the lower part. The picture presents a contrast of virtual and real combinations, the internal and external space echoing to each other; and the contrast between material and texture produces such an abstract scene.
