SU Chung-Ming has been working on ink painting for years, he nourishes his practice from traditional painting techniques and converts it into his unique artistic tone. He mainly creates landscapes, instead of objective realistic depiction, and focuses on expressing his humanistic care and environmental recognition. Verdant Mountains in the Clouds visualizes the motion of clouds and mist between peaks and valleys with gradients by overlapping the scenes. The cloud and mist appear tangible yet physically intangible; they roam around the hills vainly, dignified, gray, light, and pale, it holding the richest expressions of the landscape. SU Chung-Ming wants to create a world that accommodates humans, mountains and clouds by overlapping the mist and clouds, and the world is liberated when it’s painted onto the paper.
