LEE Ming-Hsing's photographic work, Pane, captures the figures of the workers with photography. He takes pictures of the construction workers standing on the scaffoldings in a leveled perspective. The regular arrangement of the scaffoldings forms a rhythmic shape of the lines and with the brightly colored background, makes the image look like a geometrically abstract painting. Workers are moving on high scaffoldings, carrying heavy objects, or painting. Compared to the wall of the building, they look very tiny and seem to be acting in an artistic performance. LEE Ming-Hsing shows the underappreciated hard-working workers and, on the other hand, captures the extraordinary humanity in urban life in a humorous and witty way.
