作品賞析
HWANG Yue-Sheng is a student of LIAO Hsiu-Ping and is dedicated to printmaking. He is one of the members of Taiwan's "Ten Youths Printmaking" and continues to promote printmaking and cultivate printmakers in the field of education. The work, Once-3, is a series of creations based on the “mezzotint”. The various objects in the picture are the items that often accompany the artist when he works. These objects symbolize emotions and memories. However, this scene seems to be alienating and lonely. The artist who used to be present is absent from the scene. This is the connotation of "hidden" and "absence" that HWANG Yue-Sheng tries to explore using symbolism and metaphor. He quotes the philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre's point of view: "nothingness" does not mean that it does not exist. It is the consciousness itself. He uses this to ponder the philosophical subject of "nothingness" and "being".
