TANG Jo-Hung’s early core of the creation mainly uses himself as the subject of attention and focus. Combining his own background and life experience in different places, he shapes the expression style of interlaced cultures in the painting. The work, Table Landscape, is a continuation from the Vase series in 2006. Different from the vases with realistic expressions of stillness, the vases under the brush of TANG Jo-Hung are full of expressions and symbolic meanings along with a smooth sense of rhythm. The vase in the picture does not have green leaves or delicate flowers, only a tilted dead branch. The scenery around the flower pot is deformed, twisted, and with a cryptic color, conveying a feeling of restlessness and anxiousness. TANG Jo-Hung projects himself using the dead branch in the pot, symbolizing the state of struggle between his own will and the surrounding environment.
