TANG Jo-Hun’s works often feature a chaotic setting with different cultural symbols and languages. Go Ahead! Make a Mess is an artistic assemblage of forms, graffiti, and symbols. Lines and brushstrokes intertwine chaotically across the composition to form a vision of a cataclysmic world filled with disruptive elements. The elements featured in the painting are reimagined portrayals of everyday objects that the artist comes in contact with. When engaging in the creative process, TANG Jo-Hun attempts to return to the primal state of mind, and uses an intuitive measure to identify the beast within. Personal experience is used as artistic elements in the work, which are then fragmented and re-assembled to redefine and liberate fantasy and reality.
