TUNG Hsin-Ru combines the Western abstract expressionism with Eastern spatial conception of landscape painting to show the flow of life energy. The work, Observe Microcosm 2015-3, uses trickling, splashing, dyeing, and other techniques to form a gradual, overlapping color base covered with pigmented cotton cloth, giving the picture an unpredictable wrinkled texture. The abstract colors and textures are the vast earth and bleak wilderness, or perhaps the dark and mysterious deep sea, or even the ancient moss or the flower of the life, bringing endless associations to the viewer.
