CHIU Kuo-Fong’s works are based on traditional landscape paintings and incorporate a self-created composition and brushstrokes to generate unique artistic works filled with both traditional and novel elements. Snow Cover Windy Pines among a Myriad Valleys uses a single black hue as the background to symbolize the night. Overlapping mountain ranges interspersed with trees, waterfalls, and mists are illustrated using uniformly thick outlines, while shadows and snow are depicted using basic green, blue, and white hues. Poetic calligraphy written along the right margins further completes the painting.
