LIN Wei-Cheng’s Leave provides a background of aluminum foil that has been overlaid by a large number of “zeros” and “ones” to create a virtual digital space. A “teleportation door” is provided in the composition, allowing one to traverse vast spaces to access anywhere they wish to reach. “Circle tree” and “lizard” are recurrent elements in LIN Wei-Cheng’s works. The lizards and dinosaurs are drawn to the circle tree as the plant travels through temporal and spatial realms through the teleportation door. By creating a realm of interconnected time and space, LIN Wei-Cheng separates the composition into black and white as well as colorful worlds to discuss intermingling across different boundaries as an attempt to respond to the fact that the Internet connections have become an integral part of modern lifestyles.
