HO Mu-Tien’s artworks are often based upon ordinary domestic settings and focus primarily on the relationship between people and their spaces. Homes #6 is a photograph of a living room of an ordinary British residence taken from a voyeur’s perspective. The picture shows an old gentleman enjoying some quality personal time alone in his room reading a newspaper. The window serves as the boundary between private and public spaces, serving as an opening to different countries and lifestyles. HO Mu-Tien has taken an outsider’s perspective and created a photographic composition of everyday life while featuring a unique perspective and a sense of isolation in experienced while living in a foreign country.
