HO Mu-Tien’s artworks are often based upon ordinary domestic settings and focus primarily on the relationship between people and their spaces. Homes #9 is a photograph of a living room of an ordinary British residence taken from a voyeur’s perspective. A father and his daughter are resting upon the sofa, while the window serves as the boundary between private and public spaces, serving as an opening to different countries and lifestyles. HO Mu-Tien has taken an outsider’s perspective and created a photographic composition of everyday life while featuring a unique perspective and a sense of isolation experienced while living in a foreign country.
