Wen Meng-Wei’s ink paintings express his unique views about life. Enlightenment is a monotonous assemblage of dots of varying densities to create a serene landscape. A verdant tree has created shade on the ground, while its shadow is superimposed against a simple wall of a building to convey changes in light and shadow. A small figure standing alone on the top of the building is the only colored element within the composition. To Wen Meng-Wei, every ink dot is a means to convey innermost emotions. Numerous ink dots could be assembled to express changing feelings that ranged from stress to complete relaxation.
