OU Jing-Yun’s paintings are fairytale-like fantasies characterized by bright colors and meticulous brushwork. The Flowing Fable shows a unique spatial dimension filled with brilliant and strange-looking colors. The short walls of the painting are decorated with bonsai, table lamps, and a set of table and chairs, while a zebra is about to leap over the short wall. This dimension has no apparent division between the indoors and outdoors or even between day and night. All aspects are shown within the same space. OU Jing-Yun uses multiple perspectives to weave fragmented tales into a single story, creating a surreal assemblage filled with various desires and emotions.
