OU Jing-Yun’s paintings are fairytale-like fantasies characterized by bright colors and meticulous brushwork. Trick of Dream illustrates a world composed of color and paint. The picture includes 2 beds with blankets that have been randomly strewn about. One of the beds is provided with a magnificent curtain and an exotic carpet. The surrounding walls are furnished with mirrors, paintings, and a window that opens to reveal the verdant jungle outside the house. A peculiar, triangle bed of flowers is placed in the middle to complete the surreal composition. OU Jing-Yun uses multiple perspectives to weave fragmented tales into a single story, creating a surreal assemblage filled with various desires and emotions.
