HSU Chiao-Yen uses a form of spatial imagination and recreation in order to project his emotional ties to a place or environment. Linear sketches and assemblage of different canvases were employed to represent sights outside the window during his travels. Room 501 presents 2 canvases that illustrated temporary construction on the street using black lines. The street, the sky, and other fixed buildings were presented using the blank, untouched areas of the entire canvas, dissecting the entire composition like a jigsaw puzzle and re-assembling the pieces to build a relationship between the physical and virtual objects.
