作品賞析
Artist HSU Chiao-Yen has paid attention to the symbolic relationship between spatial memory and objects. He is good at applying various existing objects and the painting creation to representing a memory context intersecting with reality. His work Parasitic Landscape-1 presents his critical metaphor for the external space. It depicts the intersecting scenes in which local memory is buried by various layers of desires due to the everlasting struggles between desires for power. The overlapped and connected planes look inter-connected without interrelationship. They are both built and destroyed by human desires. Like the presentation of the image, the buildings composed by several outlines are covered by spreading and sprayed paint. Finally, it forms an unidentifiable and obscure image. HSU Chiao-Yen writes the mottled metaphors of time and space with the repeated conflicts created by the image; he accumulates the complex feelings of individuals toward the changes of modern cities with the weaving and spraying color blocks.
