作品賞析
Artist HSU Chiao-Yen has paid attention to the symbolic relationship between spatial memory and objects. He is good at applying various existing objects and the painting creation to representing a memory context intersecting with reality. In his work Parasitic Landscape-2, there are a group of buildings composed by several thin outlines and covered by lots of spreading and sprayed paint. Finally, it forms an unidentifiable and obscure image. The artist presents his critical metaphor for the external space in this way. It depicts the intersecting scenes in which local memory is buried by various layers of desires due to the everlasting struggles between desires for power. HSU Chiao-Yen writes the mottled metaphors of time and space with the repeated conflicts created by the image; he accumulates the complex feelings of individuals toward the changes of modern cities with the weaving and spraying color blocks.
