作品賞析
LIU Yao-Chung’s creative inspirations are partly based upon western popular music that he had listened to as a student, generating artworks that are physical manifestations of the lyrics that convey a sense of comical literal interpretation. In The Biggest Pool Ever, the artist dissected the entire canvas into blue and white halves. A diving stage with no physical support floats in the center of a wide, endless pool. Men and women in swimming suits are shown standing and waiting on the stairs and diving stage or chatting and swimming in the water. LIU Yao-Chung’s work illustrates his detachment from the real world and expresses his carefree personality when confronted with his surroundings.
