CHANG Ching-Wen uses glue painting to depict urban spaces in order to express the isolation and helplessness of modern life. McDonald's is presented in whitish and subdued tones to illustrate a completely unoccupied restaurant. Tables and chairs have been arranged neatly in this spacious restaurant, while large windows allow natural lighting to subtly infiltrate the indoor environment. The deserted restaurant seems awkwardly silent and abandoned. CHANG Ching-Wen believes that restaurant are transient locations that people go through in their lives. By illustrating these temporary sanctities, CHANG Ching-Wen hopes to bring our focus to the isolation, separation, and mode of interactions between individuals living in the modern society.
