作品賞析

CHANG Ching-Wen uses glue painting to depict urban spaces in order to express the isolation and helplessness of modern life. Classroom is presented in whitish and subdued tones to illustrate a completely unoccupied classroom. Rows of tables and chairs have been arranged, sitting in their original positions in silence. Large windows with hanging curtains reflect the light and shadow of trees that fleetingly infiltrate the empty space and highlighting the loneliness of the area. CHANG Ching-Wen believes that classrooms are transient locations that people go through in their lives. By illustrating these temporary sanctities, CHANG Ching-Wen hopes to bring our focus to the isolation, separation, and mode of interactions between individuals living in the modern society.
