KE Wei-Kuo is skilled in using innovative expressions, injecting modern characteristics within traditional ink media. Fate and Encounter 07 illustrates a modern street scene where viewers could make out familiar elements from their everyday lives such as 4-story high buildings, traffic signals, convenience store logos, street advertisements, motorcars, and scooters. Light ink shades were used to create this street scene, converting routine daily scenes into a more alien and distant visage. KE Wei-Kuo hopes to express the idea that our current existence is but a collection of numerous fine particles arranged in a specific way. Matter will end with fate, dissipating like the transient and mysterious sceneries depicted in the composition.
