KE Wei-Kuo enjoys observing scenes of life and nature, and believes that nature is a canvas of our emotional landscape. His works, made using water-based inks, are expressions of his innermost emotions. In Rain Came, KE Wei-Kuo depicts layers of rainwater accumulating and flowing over and into each other. Spots of different shades have been created using a novel brushstroke technique of water-based inks pioneered by KE Wei-Kuo, and build upon the contours and expressions of flowing rainwater, light, and shadow. KE Wei-Kuo hopes to use rain and light to illuminate the outside world, transforming snippets of imaginary landscape into enigmatic poetry on canvas. Viewers can feel time slowing down to a crawl as they admire the watery reflections and allowing it to wash away the mundane worries and restrictions forced upon us by our everyday lives.
