In the painting Delighting in the Unknown, artist HSIEH Yi-Ju melds scenes from reality with ones from her own imagination, creating a fantasy world far from the commotions of the real world, imbued with joy and tranquility. Hsieh believes that the trials of human interaction are like the period between two musical movements: neither a direct connection nor an interruption. She hides the rhythms of punk music in her brushstrokes, using rich color to express her feelings and building a magical, fairy-tale-like sensation.
