作品賞析
The splayed hair and pale figure with little more than a mouth looking up at the viewer are central to HSU Meng-Han’s piece Your World Goes On Without Me. The figure’s barely parted lips seem to want to say something. On either side, in vivid reds, blues and yellows, are branching organic entities resembling blood vessels, spreading outward and changing form, mirroring the long, sprawling long hair. The life force of the human figure seems to be running out as the hair and blood vessels splay outward. By presenting blood circulating, life-sustaining arteries and veins, the artist conveys her thoughts and feelings about the topic of death, from fear and resistance to an acceptance of the perceptions and imperfections of life; it is an awareness of the poetry and solitude of the final moments of life.
